• June 16, 2024: Hooded as a part of Class of 2024 in the 60^th commencement ceremony of the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering. Officially Dr. Bhanawat now!
• June 7, 2024: Successfully defended my PhD dissertation titled - "Solar Radiation Transfer Through Semitransparent Scattering Media Across Length Scales". Extremely grateful to my supervisor Prof. Laurent Pilon and my doctoral committee members - Prof. Vijay K. Dhir, Prof. Adrienne Lavine, and Prof. Aaswath Raman for their guidance and valuable feedback.
• July 10-12, 2023: Presented my research work on the effect of gas bubbles on light transfer during solar water splitting at the ASME Summer Heat Transfer Conference (SHTC-23) held in Washington DC, USA.
• June 12-16, 2023: Presented my research work on radiation transfer through semitransparent media containing gas bubbles at the ICHMT 10^th International Symposium on Radiation Transfer (RAD-23) held in Thessaloniki, Greece.
• December 10, 2022: My research article on the effect of gas bubbles rising in electrolyte on light transfer during photoelectrochemical water splitting published in Sustainable Energy & Fuels, The Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.
• Sept 25, 2022: Awarded another two-year departmental fellowship for continuing PhD work in Mechanical Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA
• January 10, 2022: My research article on the effect of bubbles attached to photoelectrode surface on light transfer during photoelectrochemical water splitting published in Sustainable Energy & Fuels, The Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.
• December 13, 2021: Successfully completed my PhD preliminary oral examination (Prospectus). Major milestone!
• June 17, 2021: Successfully completed my PhD comprehensive examination. Relief!
• September 28, 2020: Started doctoral studies at UCLA under the supervision of Prof. Laurent Pilon.
• March 15, 2020: Awarded a two-year departmental fellowship to join the PhD program in Mechanical Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA
• May 25, 2019: Awarded the Best Poster Award in the 27th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering (ASME) held in Tsukuba, Japan (May 19-24, 2019).
